DON WANEY’S CSO TRACKED AND GUNNED DOWN IN DELTA STATE: PLANNING TO ATTACKING SECURITY AGENCIES’ LOCATIONS, CHURCHES, SCHOOLS IN RIVERS STATE

The Nigeria Army Public Relations  Deputy Director of 6 Division, Port Harcourt, Rivers State, Col. Aminu Iliyasu, yesterday (Valentine's Day) evening revealed how Augustine Agulegbu, aka Nana, the Chief Security Officer (CSO) to the killed notorious terrorist, Johnson Igwedibia, aka Don Waney, was gunned down in Delta State.

He disclosed that Agulegbu was planning to attack security agencies’ locations, churches and schools in Rivers, before he was gunned down by a combined team of soldiers and operatives of the Department of State Services (DSS).

Iliyasu said: “In compliance with the Presidential directive to fish out and bring to justice the perpetrators of the heinous killings of 23 innocent residents of Omoku in Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni Local Government Area (ONELGA) of Rivers State on January 1, 2018 by the notorious Don Waney criminal cult group, troops of 222 Battalion, Nigerian Army, in conjunction with operatives of the DSS, Rivers State Command, tracked one of the members of the killer criminal gang, Augustine Agulegbu, the CSO to the late Don Waney, and the 6th in command of the criminal gang.

“After painstaking efforts by the security agencies, Agulegbu was traced to his hideout at a location along New Sapele Road, Obiaruku in Ukwani Local Government Area of Delta State in the early hours of February 14, 2018. He was among the killer squad that killed 23 worshippers returning from the crossover service on January 1, 2018 at Omoku, Rivers State.

“Reliable information also has it that he (Agulegbu) and other gang members, still at large. were already making plans to attack security agencies’ locations, churches and schools within Rivers State, as a reprisal to the clampdown on their remnants now at large. Agulegbu was, however, shot in an encounter with the security operatives and died before reaching the hospital.”

Deputy director, army public relations also revealed that Agulegbu’s body had been brought to Port Harcourt and handed over to the Rivers police command.

MISSING N36M: SENATOR SANI STORMS JAMB OFFICE WITH SNAKE CHARMERS AND ANTI-SNAKE VENOM.

ABUJA: There was a mellow drama at the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board, JAMB, office on Tuesday as the senator representing Kaduna Central, Shehu Sani, stormed the board’s office with anti-snake venom and snake charmers to recover a missing N36m allegedly stolen from the board’s vault by a mysterious snake.  Senator Sani stormed the JAMB office with anti-snake venom, charmers following the recent startling report of a missing N36 million in JAMB vault, purportedly swallowed by a spiritual snake as confessed by an official of JAMB, Philomena Chieshe, who, failing to account for the N36m she made from the sale of JAMB scratch cards, accused her housemaid of conniving with another JAMB official, Joan Asen, to “spiritually” steal the money from the vault in the accounts office through a spiritual snake. 

However, while presenting the anti-snake venom and the charmers, Senator Sani said, “The reason for my presence here is in response to the story that a snake swallowed about N36 million. It is my concern that such a huge amount of money is reported to have been swallowed by a snake. I believe the contribution I can make is to bring snake charmers from my constituency to the JAMB office to help them fish out the snake or weed out snakes from their premises.” “If a snake can actually swallow N36 million, one day, we may wake up in this country to see that a snake has swallowed our foreign reserve or it has swallowed money that was gathered in the TSA.” JAMB Registrar, Ishaq Oloyede, could not contain his amusement over the development.

Meanwhile, the Public Relations Officer, PRO, of the board, Fabian Benjamin, said the board has heard similar startling and frivolous defence like the one given by Mrs. Chieshe over the missing fund. He however said that the board is dealing with the cases. According to him, “There was even a case in Nasarawa when a staff claimed that on his way to come and submit the scratch card, he had an accident and the car got burnt with the scratch cards.” “The cards have numbers and when we checked we found out that those cards were used. 

There was another staff that said his signature was forged. He agreed that it was his signature but he wasn’t the one that signed and did not collect the scratch cards. We have many issues like that but all of them have been queried, they appeared before the disciplinary committee, they were interrogated.

A report has been written. Once that report has been approved, we will be commended for their dismissal and prosecution.”

NIGERIANS WHO OWN PROPERTY IN THE UK PANIC OVER NEW LEGISLATION

 Nigerians, who own properties in the United Kingdom, have inundated the Federal Ministry of Finance’s Voluntary Assets and Income Declaration Scheme (VAIDS) hotlines with calls, causing the lines to crash on Friday.

A source at the VAIDs office, told newsmen  that the unprecedented level of calls was not unconnected with the new UK regulation on Unexplained Wealth Orders (UWOs).UK housing estate

The source disclosed that the VAIDs office have been  receiving massive calls and frantic requests from tax payers based in the UK, in the last 72 hours, asking for extension of time to enable them  complete their VAIDS declaration forms.

The UK Government had last week introduced a new law that requires foreigners who own properties in the country to explain the source of their funds or risk forfeiting them to the government.

According to the new law, the UWOs could be obtained on any property or combination of properties valued at  50,000 pounds ( N25 million) or more, for which the owner is unable to explain a legal source of its funding.

The source said that the data already in the possession of the VAIDS office in the Federal Ministry of Finance revealed that many UK property owners had under paid their taxes before transferring funds overseas to buy properties.

“Concerted efforts are ongoing to restore the hotlines following the crash on Friday.

“Most of the calls received are from high net worth individuals, including company executives, bankers and even a governor.

“All seem to be in panic over the prospect of losing their investments,” said a source within the VAIDS Office.

The official said that some of the apprehensive Nigerian property investors in UK had even visited  the Federal Ministry of Finance  requesting to see the Minister and also the Head of the VAIDS Office.

The source explained that most of the enquiries were about seeking assurance from the Nigerian government that the VAIDs programme could protect them from potential asset forfeiture to the UK Government.

 Others requested to know if their names had appeared on the lists the VAIDS office had obtained from overseas.

The UWO law, coupled with the revelation that many foreign governments are automatically sharing bank and property information with Nigeria, has resulted in an upsurge in enquiries about VAIDs.

VAIDS allows Nigerian tax payers to restate their income and assets without limit and thus could potentially allow those who own properties that cannot be explained by their previously declared income to regularise by declaring and paying the correct taxes.

ABUJA— Reports reaching out  I news desk reveal that CATHOLICs of Nigeria, last week, in Abuja told President Muhammadu Buhari that the country appeared to be under siege which required proactive measure, as hunger, hopelessness and deprivation are now the order of the day. President Muhammadu Buhari in a handshake with Former Archbishop of Ibadan, Felix Alaba Job. Others include Catholic Archbishop of Jos, Dr. Ignatus Kaigama, Archbishop of Lagos, Alfred Adewale Martins, Archbishop of Ibadan, Gabriel Leke Abegunrin and Bishop of Umuahia, Lucius Ugorji after a meeting with a delegation of Catholic Bishops held at the Council Chambers State House in Abuja. The Bishops, under the umbrella of Catholic Bishops Conference of Nigeria, CBCN, also told the President that he came to power under the goodwill of Nigerians but the goodwill had been eroded as a result of the failure of government to tackle the myriads of problems facing the nation. The Catholic Bishops stated this when they paid a courtesy visit on President Buhari at the Council Chamber, Presidential Villa, Abuja. The CBCN in an address delivered by its President, the Archbishop of Jos, Most Rev. Dr. Ignatius Ayau Kaigama, also told the President that the heightening clamour for restructuring of the country, agitation for secession, among other things, were as a result of disregard for the principle of federal character by the government. They further advised that elected political office holders should concentrate more on how to solve the problems before the country and not to saddle themselves with re-election programmes, even as they told the President to use his affinity with the herdsmen to tackle the menace of rampaging herdsmen that have massacred many innocent Nigerians. The Bishops in the address, which was co-signed by Most Rev. Dr. William Avenya, Bishop of Gboko Diocese of Benue State and Secretary of CBCN, said the silence of the Federal Government on the attacks by herdsmen was shocking. We hope and pray that you continue to make progress on the way to full recovery, in order to be able to face the enormous challenges emanating from your exalted office. “Your Excellency, needless to say that, as President, you are the Father of our dear country, Nigeria. It is, therefore, pertinent that as loyal citizens as well as informed members of the society, we come to you from time to time to express not only our willing cooperation with the government in working for the progress of our country, but also to share with you the feelings of the multitude of Nigerians at this moment. “We work with the people at the grassroots and, therefore, have first-hand information about what they are going through. The Nation is nervous. “Just as we seem to be gradually emerging from the dark tunnel of an economic recession that caused untold hardship to families and individuals, violent attacks by unscrupulous persons, among whom are terrorists masquerading as herdsmen, have led to a near civil war situation in many parts of the country. “We are saddened that, repeatedly, innocent citizens in different communities across the nation are brutally attacked and their sources of livelihood mindlessly destroyed. Lives are wasted and property, worth billions of Naira, including places of worship, schools, hospitals and business enterprises, are torched and turned to ashes. “We are still more saddened by the recent massacre of unarmed citizens by these terrorists in some communities n Benue, Adamawa, Kaduna and Taraba states which has caused national shock, grief and outcry. “The silence of the federal government in the wake of these horrifying attacks is, to say the least, shocking. There is a feeling of helplessness among the people and the danger that some people may begin to take laws into their hands. “We, therefore, earnestly urge the government to take very seriously its primary responsibility of protecting the lives and property of its citizens and ensure that such mindless killings do not recur. Herdsmen may be under pressure to save their livestock and economy but this is never to be done at the expense of other people’s lives and means of livelihood. “We would like to add our voice to those of other well-meaning Nigerians who insist that a better alternative to open grazing should be sought rather than introducing “cattle colonies” in the country. While thinking of how best to help cattle owners establish ranches, government should equally have plans to help the other farmers whose produce is essential for our survival as a nation “In a similar vein, daredevil kidnappers, who at present are having a field day, with a feeling of invincibility, must be made to understand that there is a government in this country. Government should invest more in equipping our Police Force with modern high-tech devices that will help them track down and arrest these criminals and make them face the wrath of the law. The Federal Character Principle “The Federal Character Principle is enshrined in the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria:  It says: ‘The government of the Federation or any of its and the conduct of its affairs shall be carried out in such a manner as to reflect the federal character of Nigeria and the need to promote national unity and also to command national loyalty, thereby ensuring that there shall be no predominance of persons from a few states or from a few ethnic or other sectional groups in that government or in any of its agencies” (Section 14, Sub-section 3-4). “Disregard for this Principle in some federal government appointments as well as perceptible imbalance in the distribution of federal amenities has created the loss of a sense of belonging in many parts of the country, hence the constant cries of marginalization, agitation for secession and calls for restructuring. “These and many more such problems are, in our opinion, grave matters that should be worrying all political leaders in our country today, rather than any bid for re-election.” The Catholic Bishops said the Catholic Church had always complemented the efforts of government in such areas as providing quality education and primary health care services to Nigerian people. They said further:  “We continue to make our contributions to nation-building through our prayers, admonitions and assistance to needy Nigerians whenever we can.  As the voice of the voiceless, we shall continue to highlight the plight of our people and play our prophetic role of sensitizing the government, thus promoting good governance, national unity and cohesion. “We strongly feel that everybody in government at this moment has to take more decisive steps to restore the confidence of the Nigerian people in our governments. Our collective efforts must be seen in the desire to return to the fine principles of democracy, such as true federalism negotiation and consensus building, as means of achieving a more equitable distribution of the resources of our country and good governance.” Why we visited Buhari — Kaigama Speaking to State House correspondents after the closed-door visit to the President, the leader of the delegation and President of CBCN, Archbishop Kaigama, said:  “We came here primarily to interact with Mr. President and to share with him some concerns about our nation and our people. “We had the privilege of meeting Mr. President when he wasn’t yet a President, when he was campaigning and we had a very useful interaction, we asked questions, he gave answers and since he became President, we have also met and interacted very frankly, had dialogue on issues that affect Nigerians and affect all of us. “Today is not different. We have thanked him for the work he is doing but to also raise concerns about issues that affect the lives of our people. We are grassroots people, we are pastors, we operate with the people at the grassroots, we know where and when they are in trouble. “We just wanted to identify some of these areas so that he will be aware and he can use the opportunity he has as the leader of this nation to correct and sanitize things for the good of all of us.  Apart from being our President, he has the interest of the security of Nigerians and he also has some affinity with those herdsmen who graze and rear their cattle and so on and I believe he is also a farmer. “So, he can combine the two interests, herding and farming and come up with a solution that will be fair and all the different groups will feel they belong and they are being adequately assisted to do what is right to avoid killing and destruction of lives and property. “Our President can do it. He needs the support of his team, those who work with him to give him sound and genuine advice so that they can forge ahead.”On Mr President’s response On the response of the President to their demands, he said:  “Our President as I have said has met us a number of times now and each time we met, we raised difficult issues and questions and I would have to say that to his credit, we thought as a past military leader, he would react with military ferocity, but no, he has been quiet calm, tranquil in the manner he responded to all the issues. “The issues we raised were difficult ones, they were touching at the nerves of his government and by the grace of God, he was able to respond and explain what he felt people did not understand and what he had done behind the scene we did not know about. At least, he got to say that clearly. That also enlightened us and we are better informed. But the fact remains, there is still trouble in the land.” However, a statement by the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Chief Femi Adesina, stated that the President explained that the policy proposed by Federal Government in response to the frequent clashes between herdsmen and farmers in the country was not meant to colonize any part of the country. The presidential spokesman stated that the President said the intention of government was to create grazing locations for cattle rearers, which had been misconstrued as another form of colonization. According to him, President Buhari regretted that the well-thought out policy of the Federal Government, which was conceived after wide consultations with stakeholders, had been largely misunderstood by a section of the public. He, however, assured the Catholic Bishops that the Federal Government would continue to explore all opportunities and support initiatives to ensure peace and stability in restive areas. Condemning recent spate of killings in Benue, Adamawa, Taraba, and Zamfara states, the President said security operatives would ensure prosecution of perpetrators and all those found with illegal arms in the affected areas. He said: “The impression created that I was sitting in an air-conditioned office and home, enjoying myself while these things happened, is dishonest.  At every step, I have tried to foresee these problems because I have the experience as a former military officer who commanded three out of the four divisions of the Nigerian Army in Lagos, Ibadan and Jos. “I am quite aware of the problems we have and I am doing my best to get law enforcement agencies to be on the alert.” Remarkable progress The President told the Catholic Bishops that he would not be tired of recounting remarkable progress recorded in the areas of security, economy and the fight against corruption. He said:  “We have done very well on security in the North East, when you compare what the condition was before we came in and what it is now. “On the economy, particularly agriculture, I am very pleased that God answered the prayers of Nigerians who prayed for bountiful harvest.  People have taken advantage of Federal Government’s policies and programmes to return to the farm and they have not regretted.” On the fight against corruption, the President reiterated that government would be guided by the law in the investigation and prosecution of all graft-related cases. “People are being prosecuted systematically with evidence.  If a permanent secretary has five houses in Abuja, two in Kaduna and one in Borno and Sokoto and he can’t account for the properties and there are bank transactions linking him to the properties, the prosecuting agencies will not have difficulties to make progress on the case.” On the question of Federal character, the President declared that no ethnic group or political zone had been deliberately marginalised in the appointments made so far. He, however, added that he would take a second look at areas on which issues had been raised, when a compendium of all government appointments was submitted to him.

I’ll REVIEW APPOINTMENTS TO ADDRESS MARGINALISATION – BUHARI

President Muhammadu Buhari told Catholic bishops in Abuja today that he would take a second look at appointments made by the Federal Government to redress issues being raised.

He said the review will be done after a compendium of all appointments has been submitted to him.

He told the bishops, under the aegis of Catholic Bishops Conference of Nigeria, that no ethnic group or political zone has been deliberately marginalised in the appointments made so far by his administration.

The Nigerian leader was obviously reacting to criticisms that he may have violated the Federal character principle in some of the appointments made.

The last time a compendium of appointments was done, the South West region led the rest of the country.

President Buhari also explained that the policy proposed by Federal Government in response to the frequent clashes between herdsmen and farmers in the country is not meant to colonize any part of the country.

Buhari said the intention of government is to create grazing locations for cattle rearers, which has now been misconstrued as another form of colonization.

President Buhari regretted that the well-thought out policy of the Federal Government, which was conceived after wide consultations with stakeholders, had been largely misunderstood by a section of the public.

He, however, assured the Catholic Bishops that the Federal Government will continue to explore all opportunities and support initiatives to ensure peace and stability in restive areas.

Condemning recent spate of killings in Benue, Adamawa, Taraba, and Zamfara states, the President said security operatives would ensure prosecution of perpetrators and all those found with illegal arms in the affected areas.

BREAKING: IKEJA COURT ORDERS ARREST AND DETENTION OF INNOSON MOTORS BOSS

An Ikeja High Court, on Friday, issued a bench warrant of arrest against the Chairman of Innoson Motors Nigeria Limited, Innocent Chukwuma.

In his ruling, Justice Mojisola Dada, the preciding judge of the High court, ordered that Chukwuma must be produced in the next adjournment for probable arraignment over alleged forgery.

The decision of the court was due to his (Innocent Chukwuma) failure to appear before the court again for arraignment over the criminal matter pressed against him by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) in his face off with the Guaranty Trust Bank, GTB.

Justice Dada ordered that Mr Innocent Chukwuma should be arrested and kept in custody a day before the next adjourned date, which is March 14, 2018.

U.S. GOVERNMENT SHUTDOWN AGAIN

The U.S. Senate approved a budget deal including a stopgap government funding bill early on Friday, but it was too late to prevent a federal shutdown that was already underway in an embarrassing setback for the Republican-controlled Congress.

The shutdown, which technically started at midnight, is the second this year under Republican President Donald Trump, who played little role in attempts by party leaders earlier this week to head it off and end months of fiscal squabbling.

The U.S. Office of Personnel Management advised millions of federal employees shortly after midnight to check with their agencies about whether they should report to work on Friday.

The Senate’s approval of the budget and stopgap funding package meant it will go next to the House of Representatives, where lawmakers were divided along party lines and passage was uncertain.

House Republican leaders on Thursday had offered assurances that the package would be approved, but so did Senate leaders and the critical midnight deadline, when current government funding authority expired, was still missed.

The reason for that was a nine-hour, on-again, off-again Senate floor speech by Kentucky Republican Senator Rand Paul, who objected to deficit spending in the bill.

The unexpected turn of events dragged the Senate proceedings into the wee hours and underscored the persistent inability of Congress and Trump to deal efficiently with Washington’s most basic fiscal obligations of keeping the government open.

BBnaija 2018: Let the Game Begin! Here are the Housemates up for Possible (Fake) Eviction this Sunday

The first nomination show for season 3 of Big Brother Naija has just wrapped up and if you missed it, we’ve got the scoop for you.
This season, the housemates are playing in pairs so each pair had to nominate two pairs for possible eviction.

Even though Biggie has said there will be NO EVICTION this coming Sunday, the housemates are unaware of that fact.

MEET THE 20 BBNAIJA 2018 HOUSEMATES, THEIR BRIEF PROFILES & PHOTOS

The BBNaija 2018 Reality TV Show, “Double Wahala”, has officially begun, and there’d be 20 housemates battling for the grand prize of N45 million!

The show is Hosted By Ebuka and will air on Dstv Channel 198 and GOTV channel 29.

Meet 20 BBNaija 2018 Housemates

The First FOUR Housemates auditioned for Big Brother Naija for the very First time, and they got in.

1. Nina.Nina is from Owerri, a student of Imo State University.

Nina brings her people skills to the House: she says she loves talking, interacting with people and singing. Nina knows she’ll be the fans’ favourite because she will be “real and fans will love that”. If she were an animal, she said she would be a cat with nine lives for all the challenges she has gone through and overcome.

What will you be bringing into the BB House: I will be bringing my acting talent

What will you do with the prize money: I’ll pay my tithe, I’ll help my family, I’ll invest in business,

What irritates you most in other people: When people are proud and lying

2. Teddy A.

There are two things that make Teddy jam in this world: recording and making music in the studio. He also adores spending quality time with and doting on his four-year old son. A self-described chameleon who can fit in any society, Teddy joins the House because he wants to ‘blow’ and ‘be popular’. His ever-supporting family and his four brothers have all rallied behind him.

What will you be bringing into the BB House: A lots of razzmatazz, sneaky troublemaker

What will you do with the prize money: Invest some of it, the rest will be used to fund my label

What irritates you most in other people: People who try to impose their beliefs on me

Loves Football and a fan of Manchester United. Teddy also has a son.

3. K Brule.

When he is not rehearsing in studios, K.Brule can be found playing football and watching movies. After graduating from music school, he enrolled at university only to drop out when he learned that his mother was gravely ill.

An only child, K.Brule says he is a fun, loyal and happy mate. His mother is super excited about BBNaija. If he were a world leader, he would make energy and education accessible for all.

What will you be bringing into the BB House: My vibe, I think I’m funny,

4. Vandora.

Apart from being a foodie, Vandora likes talking to people, doing make up and watching TV. She says she was at her lowest when she failed her second year at university.

However that misfortune turned to be what she describes as her highest point in life when she finally graduated at an advertising school. Vandora’s family was shocked to find out about her going into the house but she knows they’ll support her.

What irritates you the most about other people: I’m usually very tolerant but sometimes you just don’t like people from the first time I see them.

What will you be bringing to the BB house: My personality, charisma, heated conversations

What will you do with the prize money: Invest (but I’m not sure on what to invest).

5. Alex

Sandra Asagwa is a social butterfly who loves to dance. This single, vibrant, young lady is one of three children and she said she will miss her family the most while in the House.

She prides herself on being unique and daring. Alex believes that she will stand out because she “won’t hold back” so hold on to your hats folks because it looks like we are in for a wild ride.

What irritates you most in other people: Dirtiness, people who are fake

A 22 year old, says she does not believe in love, and anyone who’s in the house trying to preach love nonsense to her shouldn’t even come close. Says some shattered her heart.

6. Dee One.

A Comedian, says he is in a very serious relationship.. and he’s funny AF!

From an early age, Dee-One has learned to laugh at everything and has developed this talent into an art. He also enjoys reading the Bible, poetry, dancing, rapping and singing. Dee-One confessed he would sorely miss his phone, but he can trust BBNaija fans to love the humour he brings into the House. If he was a world leader, Dee-One says he would change the poverty mentality.

What will you be bringing into the BB House: Humor.

7. Princess.

Princess Linda Onyejekwe enjoys cooking, designing clothes and partying on occasion. She recalls having not yet reached the highest point of her life and aspires for more. A geology graduate, Princess intends to use her time in the House to tap into her secret acting talents and let her “Alter Egos” take center stage.

What irritates you most in other people: Pretentious people.

What will you be bringing into the BB House: All shades of me. The fun, manipulative, reserved and agitated alter egos of me will have the opportunity to come out and play.

What will you do with the prize money: I’m looking at starting a lingerie line for plus-size women. I also own a beauty supply business that I will invest a lot of the money in.

PR Manager, 24 years old from Enugu State. Princess says she’s looking formore friends.

8. Miracle.

Newly graduated from the aviation school, Miracle flies into the House with his pilot license firmly in hand. He feels grateful for everything in life as he knows how financially difficult it was to get there. Miracle’s love of dancing and camping is only parallel by his sense of fashion, especially his skinny jeans. Miracles hates inequality and says he’s not in the game for the money.

What irritates you most in other people: People being fake, makes me not to trust them.

What will you be bringing into the BB House: I want to bring confusion amongst the ladies.

What will you do with the prize money: I’ll use part of the money to further my pilot training and the rest to help my family.

9. Ahneeka

Growing up as the middle child of five siblings, Ahneeka has developed a love for unrest: she promised to eliminate “all things dull” by disturbing everyone in the House whilst having bucket loads of fun.

Ahneeka’s biggest feat is of landing a media job despite her engineering background. She says her family is freaked out about her participation yet are fully supportive of her.

What irritates you most about people: ‘Bougie’. Generally fake people.

10. Bam Bam

Actress and singer Oluwabamike “Bambam” Olawunmi joins the House secretly from her family. A native of Ogun state, Bambam confessed that binge-watching movies, playing badminton and singing were here favourite pastimes.

She attended film school, which was a way to overcome her parents divorce. BamBam’s spirit-animal is the black panther because it has “good massage skills”.

What irritates you the most about other people: Dishonesty

What will you be bringing into the BB House: I’ll bring drama and entertainment and my charm

What will you do with the prize money: I’ll pay my tithes and invest in a few businesses.

11. Rico Swavey

Even if he had a million dollars Rico Swavey would be in the House “just to catch the waves”. He said he exploded of joy when he got his first big acting gig, and shared that he was a lion at heart, a protector who likes to stand up for the oppressed. When Rico Swavey is not busy charming ladies, he enjoys swimming and singing. Rico’s parents and seven siblings are happy and supportive.

What will you be bringing into the BB House: I’m a very easy person to like.

What will you do with the prize money: Help my cousin who has autism, invest in my music – I have a new sound called ‘Afrosantana’ and also give back to all those that stood up for me when things were difficult

What irritates you most in other people: I don’t like lies

12. Khloe

A horror movie buff, Khloe owns having no hidden talent and is only looking to bring drama to the house. At the core of herself, Khloe believes she is often misunderstood and hopes to use her time in the House for her true self to shine. If Khloe were a world leader, she would “stop university education” because she’s “real”, she doesn’t “sugar coat” and says it “the way it is”.

What irritates you most in other people: Lies

What will you be bringing into the BB House: Drama

What will you do with the prize money: I want to start a foundation to empower street children. I also have like two movie scripts that I want to produce.

13. Angel

Angel Awotarigha is a filmmaker and music lover from Bayelsa state who often gets mistaken for a famous Nigerian personality.

He enjoys martial arts, swimming, playing the guitar and video games. Working with an American rapper is a highlight of Angel’s career.

One of ten children, Angel lost his mum a year ago and his family is strongly rallied behind him. Angel describes himself as passionate, and keeping his fiery and emotional nature under wraps may be a challenge in the House.

14. Bitto

The youngest of four siblings, Bitto most painful memory was losing his mum at an early age. He expects his family to be shocked but very supportive of him. He will miss Sylvia his best friend and girlfriend the most. If he was an animal, Bitto says he would be a camel for there is no stroke that can break his back. Bitto’s hobbies include traveling, taking pictures, music and movies.

What irritates you the most about other people: I don’t like lousy people. Gossips.

What will you be bringing into the BB House: A mix of my everyday life- creating mock radio shows and debates. I am a perfect mix of Nigeria, having the North, South and West experience.

What will you do with the prize money: I will give 20% to charity, start my own production studio- audio and video. Get married and start a family.

15. Ifu Ennada

Work hard play hard Ifu Ennada is a work hard – play hard self-made woman who remembers the feeling of making her first millions. She cites her hobbies as drinking Mojitos, partying, karaoke and online shopping. Ifu Ennada admit she’ll miss her phone as she likes to “reply to people on social media”.

What will you be bringing into the BB House: raw, unfiltered honesty, a lot of fun, I’m always the life of the party.

What will you do with the prize money: I have some scripts I have written – I want to make films, I also want to build a fitness brand, I also want to go into hair business, also charity

What irritates you most in other people: I don’t like bullies and nosey people.

16. Leo

“I’m a business man” says Leo when asked how far he will go in the game. He doesn’t like lies and his biggest fear is “being pushed out of an aeroplane without a parachute.” He’s a stickler for hygiene and hates bad body odour.

17. Tobi Bakre

A native from Ogun state, Oluwatobi Bakre is passionate about photography and football. Tobi’s hobbies range from poetry, dancing, rapping, singing and drawing.

Against all odds, Tobi graduated from the University of Lagos considering he is an avid clubber who lives on social media. The youngest of four siblings, Tobi’s most painful experience was seeing his father cry at his grandmother’s funeral.Forever supportive, Tobi’s family shares in the BBNaija excitement. He has always wanted to be in the House if only “for fun”.

What irritates you the most about other people: People being fake

What will you be bringing into the BB House: Lots of fun

What will you do with the prize money: Help my friends first, then buy properties

18. LOLULolu enjoys eating, reading, traveling, playing video as well as board games. His highest point in life was securing a job at a large investment banking corporation, although losing his mother made him reach rock bottom.

The University of Ilorin graduate also a secret poet, dancer and singer. He’s also great with accents. Lolu’s dad is unaware of his participation in Big Brother but his sister is excited about it.

What irritates you the most about other people: People taking others.

19. Cee-C

Cee-C enters the House pretty satisfied to have found her purpose in life. Oozing confidence and authenticity, she said she is “eye candy” and “mentally attractive” too. Her features are enhanced by her love for dresses that hug her body at the right spots.

The privately educated Cee-C likes to learn new stuff and is an avid novel reader. She is a mean cook and is an avid tennis player.

What irritates you most in other people: People being judgmental.

What will you be bringing into the BB House: a lot of drama, authenticity.

What will you do with the prize money: Giving back to the society and I’ll start a campaign to make the ministry of education incorporate ‘self-development’ into the educational system.

20. Anto

Born and raised in the US, Anto came back to Nigeria for the first time at the age of 20 to work at her dream job in a male-dominated industry. By her own admission, she has no special talents that she knows of.

Growing up on the Atlantic coast, Anto loves going to the beach, dancing and cooking. She also takes no prisoners for being scandalous so she can wear anything.

What irritates you most in other people: I don’t like laziness, people...
